Wellness Exams
Your pet’s routine physical exam is the cornerstone of their lifelong health. During your pet’s annual or semiannual visit, we assess their overall wellbeing, boost their immune system, screen for infectious diseases, identify subtle health changes, and provide customized care recommendations at every life stage.

Pets are stoic by nature, and hide illness and injury. While this strategy may have kept their wild ancestors from harm, your pet’s stoicism can cause them unnecessary suffering and pain. Maintaining your pet’s routine preventive care—even when they appear healthy—ensures their veterinarian can determine whether they have been hiding a treatable adverse condition.
- Baseline health assessment — During your pet’s routine wellness exam, we record their vital signs, measurements, and physical exam findings, comparing these results with their previous records.
- Infectious disease and parasite screenings — We review your pet’s blood and fecal samples to determine whether they have any infectious or viral diseases (e.g., heartworm or tick-borne disease, feline viruses).
- Vaccination — We base your pet’s vaccine recommendations on their health and lifestyle, and administer the appropriate vaccines to protect them from common infectious diseases.
- Lifestyle review — Behavior and environment are part of your pet’s health, and we will ask you about your pet’s at-home routine, answer your pet-care questions, and counsel you regarding your pet’s basic behavior and training (e.g., chewing, house or litter box training, socialization).
- Prevention recommendations — If your pet has not been receiving flea, tick, intestinal parasite, and heartworm preventive medications, our team will recommend the appropriate product for your pet’s year-round parasite protection.
